Who We Are
Tesla Spanish Academy is a Spanish Immersion, a home-based preschool located in Bothell, WA. It was founded in 2017 by Selene Karameto, with the support of her husband, Redi. Our goal is to provide a quality preschool in a developmentally-appropriate setting to children ages 3 to 5. The preschool is open during the academic school year, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Location
We are located in a quiet and private community in North Creek with natural landscaping, lush-green lawn areas and a nearby children’s community park. Rain-or-shine, we organize daily outdoor activities for the children to play and to learn about nature and the environment.
Our Mission
Tesla Spanish Academy is committed to providing a Spanish immersion program in a nurturing and developmentally-appropriate learning environment. Our values focus on celebrating diversity, culture, ethnicity, gender, and family composition while encouraging friendship-building, school and community involvement, and an exciting atmosphere. We welcome families interested in growing with us, learning the Spanish language and cultures.
Philosophy
Our program and teachings follow developmentally appropriate and research-based practices. Young children have many perspectives of the world around them and they develop and grow through playful, hands-on activities, group story-reading, and learning about their natural environment. The academy encourages children to explore and create arts and cultural activities, individually or in teams, using a variety of appropriate media and materials.

This preschool is outstanding! There is nothing I have seen that compares to it. The teachers are very hands-on and always have fun and interesting lessons. I love that it is complete Spanish immersion. I’m learning Spanish with my 3-year-old son and it is so neat to hear him using Spanish at home that he learned in preschool. I will certainly be sending my daughter here as well when she gets old enough. Bravo Tesla Spanish Academy.

We LOVE this school. Last year our preschool closed due to covid and had to find a new place which was hard. I found Selene and her school and fell in love. The school is a Spanish immersion school and I was worried my non spanish speaking 4 year old would struggle but that has not been the case. Maestra Selene makes sure all the kids are involved and understanding. It has been a great experience and a great opportunity for our daughter to be introduced to another language.

We LOVE Tesla!! We were looking for a Spanish immersion preschool for our freshly 3 year old daughter, who comes from a monolingual (English) home. We are trying to give her the gift of bilingualism, so Spanish was a must for our preschool. After our first visit in January we loved it, and signed up for the fall. A spot opened up however in April, so we started our daughter early. In just 2 short months the growth we’ve seen in her has been phenomenal! In her language skills/comprehension (she sings songs in Spanish at home), in her physically (she is now day and night potty trained after being around the other wonderful students), and in her socially. After spending age 2 isolated due to the pandemic, she was very shy and never spent time away from us. Thanks to the patience, compassion, and support of her teachers and classmates she loves to interact with the other children (which we see away from school now too) and happily marches into school on her own. We can’t wait to continue our journey with Tesla in the fall – Selene has cultivated a fabulous preschool that gives SO much to the children, Spanish and beyond. Thank you!
