At Tesla Spanish Academy, we recognize that children learn in different ways. Rather than following one single teaching method, our educators draw from well-established early childhood practices to create meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Our approach balances child-led exploration with intentional teacher guidance, giving children opportunities to play, investigate, create, ask questions, practice new skills, and build understanding through real experiences.
This flexibility allows us to respond to each child while nurturing curiosity, independence, confidence, and a strong foundation for future learning.
Spanish Through Everyday Experiences
Spanish is not treated as a separate lesson. Children experience the language naturally throughout their day through conversation, stories, songs, routines, friendships, art, movement, sensory play, and exploration.
Our goal is for children to build understanding and confidence in Spanish through experiences that have meaning to them.
Learning Through Our Studies
Our curriculum develops through Studies—topics that allow children to investigate an idea deeply.
A Study may begin with something children are already curious about, or teachers may intentionally introduce a new topic to spark interest. From there, children explore it through science, nature, books, art, music, movement, dramatic play, sensory experiences, building, and hands-on projects.
This helps children make connections rather than simply memorize information.
Small Classrooms, Individual Growth
Our small, mixed-age classrooms allow teachers to truly know each child.
Instead of expecting every child to learn the same thing in exactly the same way or at the same time, teachers observe each child’s interests, strengths, developmental needs, and individual progress and provide the right level of support and challenge.
